Meet Emily — The Heart Behind the Lens

Hi, I’m Emily—the photographer and soul behind The Companion Studio. Animals have been a constant source of love and inspiration for me, and I’ve been lucky to share my heart with many furry companions.

I wanted to create a space where pets and their people feel truly seen, comfortable, and celebrated which is why I founded The Companion Studio.

I’m kind, a little shy, and a bit quirky but more than anything I am a huuuuge animal lover.

Every pet has a special place in our lives, and I’m here to help you capture that bond in timeless images you’ll treasure forever.

Three Bernese mountain dogs standing near a wooden fence in a backyard with grass.
A tabby cat with green eyes and white chest markings lies on a carpeted surface looking upward attentively.
A mixed breed dog with brown and black fur sits attentively on grass, displaying a friendly expression.
Two adorable brown and black dogs sitting together on hardwood floor, one smaller and one larger, both looking at camera.

Get to know my companions

Duke (4), and Daisy (3) are the heartbeat of The Companion Studio. They’re Golden Labrador and Springer Spaniel mixes, siblings from different litters, and my very best friends. They love swimming, running alongside me, playing until they crash, and they inspire everything I do. You'll even find them woven into the names of our session packages and our logo.

Before Daisy and Duke, there was Rosie...my cat, my heart. She passed away in 2021, and not a day goes by that I don’t think of her. Rosie inspired the creation of our end-of-life sessions. I wish I had more time with her, more images, more ways to hold on. Now, through these sessions, I can help others preserve those precious moments with their beloved companions.

The Companion Studio is rooted in love — for the pets I still hold close, and the ones I’ve had to say goodbye to. This work is my way of honouring them as family, always.
